Minecraft Prison Gangs Guide: Create, Level Up and Top
Gangs on PinnaMC level up from every block their members mine, earn points from daily challenges and fight for the top spot. Here is everything you need to know.
Gangs in Minecraft prison let you team up with friends to level up together, share boosts and compete on a server-wide leaderboard. On PinnaMC, a gang gains experience from the blocks every member mines, earns gang points from daily challenges, and is ranked on the /gang top leaderboard by gang level.
PinnaMC (play.pinnamc.com) is a Prison OP Minecraft server with automatic multi-language support (it plays in your own language), running on its own prison core, PinnaPrison. This guide covers everything about its gang system, from your first /gang create to fighting for first place.
What is a gang in Minecraft prison?
A gang is a group of players who progress together. Instead of grinding alone, every block you mine also pushes your gang forward. On PinnaMC, gangs have:
- A gang level that rises as members mine.
- Gang points earned from daily challenges.
- Gang upgrades bought with points, such as currency boosters shared by the whole gang and extra member slots.
- A gang chat to coordinate.
- A place on the gang top leaderboard.
Because everyone mines in their own private mine, gangs never fight over blocks. You all mine at full speed, and the progress adds up.
Creating or joining a gang
Create your own gang
Type /gang create <name> to found a gang. The name has to follow the server's length rules, and there may be a requirement to create one (check the in-game message if the command refuses). You become the Leader automatically.
Then invite your friends with /gang invite <player>. The player must be online to receive the invite.
Join an existing gang
If someone invites you, type /gang join <gang>. You can check any gang before joining with /gang info <gang>, which shows its members, level and experience.
Useful everyday commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| /gang | Opens your gang menu |
| /gang create <name> | Creates a new gang |
| /gang invite <player> | Invites an online player |
| /gang join <gang> | Joins a gang that invited you |
| /gang info [gang] | Shows a gang's members, level and experience |
| /gang chat [message] | Toggles gang chat or sends one message |
| /gang top | Opens the gang leaderboard |
| /gang challenges | Opens daily challenges and upgrades |
| /gang points | Shows your gang's points |
| /gang leave | Leaves your gang |
The aliases /g and /gangs also work. And since PinnaMC translates menus automatically, all of this appears in the language your Minecraft client uses.
Gang roles explained
Every gang has a ladder of roles. Everyone joins as a Member, and the leader can move people up with /gang promote <player> or down with /gang demote <player>. Use /gang roles to see the full ladder.
Higher roles can be trusted with some management tasks, such as inviting new players or kicking inactive ones, so the leader does not have to do everything alone. Two safety rules always apply:
- A role can only act on members ranked below it, never on equals or the leader.
- Leadership only changes hands with /gang transfer <player>, which asks for confirmation.
Tip: promote the players who are active and reliable, not just your oldest friends. A good officer who invites and cleans up inactive members is worth a lot.
How gang leveling works
Your gang levels up from blocks mined by its members. Each counted block adds gang experience, and when the bar fills, the gang reaches the next level and the extra experience carries over. Each new level needs a bit more experience than the last, so the climb gets steeper over time.
What this means in practice:
- Every member matters. Ten active miners level a gang much faster than two.
- Playtime beats bursts. Consistent daily mining adds up more than one big session a week.
- Your contribution is tracked. Gang menus show how many blocks each member contributed, so the whole gang can see who is carrying.
The gang level is stored on the gang itself, so it does not drop if someone leaves.
Daily challenges and gang points
Each member gets a set of daily challenges that refresh regularly. They can include things like:
- Mining a number of blocks (sometimes specific ores).
- Earning a certain amount of a currency.
- Gaining rankup levels.
- Triggering a specific enchant a number of times.
- Staying online for a while.
When you complete one, your gang earns gang points. Open them with /gang challenges.
Spending gang points
Gang points buy gang upgrades that benefit everyone:
- Currency boosters that increase income for every member.
- Armor XP boosters for your armor sets.
- Member slots so your gang can hold more players.
Upgrades get more expensive per level, so coordinate with your gang on what to buy first. Income boosters early on usually pay off fastest.
Climbing the gang top
The /gang top leaderboard ranks gangs purely by gang level (ties are broken by experience). There is no hidden "gang value": the gang that mines the most climbs the highest. The ranking is refreshed periodically, so do not panic if it does not update the second you level up.
Tips to reach the top
- Recruit active players. Activity is everything. Look for people who log in every day.
- Complete challenges daily. Points mean upgrades, upgrades mean more income, more income means faster progress.
- Upgrade your pickaxe. Better enchants mean faster mining and more blocks for the gang. See the features page for everything your pickaxe can do.
- Use gang chat. Share tips, plan upgrade purchases and keep people motivated.
- Use the multi-language advantage. PinnaMC players can recruit teammates from any language, since everyone sees the server in their own. Learn more on the languages page.
- Link Discord. Run /link in-game to connect your account and follow leaderboards on the Discord.
How to join PinnaMC and start a gang
